2 FIELD_WORK

Field_work_is_an_intergral_part_of_the_academic_programme_which_is_credited_in_different_courses._It_is_done_in_two_phases._The_first_phase_is_done_during_the_first_semester_which_entails_teaching_of_courses_which_familiarize_the_students_with_public_health_and_its_relationship_with_social_context._The_field_work_is_designed_to_expose_the_students_with_the_health_system,_functionaries_and_programmes;_institutions;_and_the_community_in_an_around_Delhi._In_the_second_phase,_which_is_done_in_the_second_(winter)_semester,_a_district_other_than_Delhi,_is_selected_to_expose_the_students_to_the_situation_which_prevail_in_a_typical_health_system;_its_connect_with_other_institutions_and_the_community-_both_in_the_rural_and_urban_areas.

An_orientation_session_preceeds_the_fieldwork._A_team_of_students,_research_staff_and_faculty_members_co-ordiante_the_organization,_conduct_and_completion_of_the_field_work._Based_on_the_insights_gained_from_the_fieldwork,_a_presentation_is_done_and_a_report_prepared. Additionally,_the_MPH_programme_entails_a_fieldwork_in_a_selected_district_to_write_a_report_on_the_health_system,_services,_functionaries,_infrastructure_and_access_and_utilization_of_health_care_in_the_community._The_study_is_done_from_the_district_level_facility,_to_the_community_health_centre,_primary_health_centre,_sub_centre_and_a_village.
