PhD Programme

PhD_Programme

PhD._Candidates_conduct_original_research_towards_a_PhD._dissertation_in_any_one_of_the_three_streams_of_study_offered_at_the_School_under_the_supervision_of_a_guide_from_within_the_School’s_faculty.

 

The_PhD._Programme is_designed_to_support_a_student_through_the_process_of_doing original_research_that_contributes_to_the_chosen_discipline. 

 

Successful_MPhil._students_of_the_School_may_graduate_to_a_PhD._programme._However,_the_School_also_invites_applications_for_direct_admissions_to_the_PhD._programmes_at_the_School.

 

Admission Only_those_candidates_will_be_considered_for_direct_admission_who_have_either:

 

Obtained_an_MPhil._Degree_from_a_recognized_University/Research_Institution_with_a_minimum_Grade_Point_Average_of_6.00_on_a_10_point_scale (candidates_who_have_obtained_an_MPhil._Degree_from_a_University/Institution_where_the_MPhil._dissertation_is_not_graded_or_grading_is_not_based_on_a_10_point_scale_are_required_to_forward_a_copy_of_their_MPhil._dissertation_along_with_the_application_form_for_the_purpose_of_assessment_of_their_credentials).

 

or

 

Possess_demonstrable_research_experience_in_recognized_Universities/_Research_Institutions_and/or_research_publication(s)_equivalent_to_the_MPhil._level.

 

The_MPhil._Programmes_Admission_to_the_MPhil._is_through_a_separate_entrance_examination_for_each_stream_(i)_Visual_Studies,_(ii)_Cinema_Studies,_and_(iii)_Theatre_and_Performance_Studies_followed_by_a_viva_voce.
