MPhil Programme

M.Phil-PhD_Programmes

The_School_offers_M.Phil.programmes_in_three_disciplines_–_Visual_Studies,_Theatre_and_Performance_Studies_and_Cinema_Studies._Candidates_seeking_admission_to_any_of_the_M_Phil_courses_are_expected_to_have_a_broad_knowledge_of_the_history,_practice_and_theories_of_their_respective_disciplines._Selected_candidates_in_each_stream_will_spend_the_first_two_semesters_in_coursework_including_two_compulsory_courses_(i)_Research_Methodology_and_(ii)_Dissertation_Seminar_as_well_as_two_optional_courses._Each_course_carries_four_credits;_a_total_of_16_credits_are_earned_through_the_coursework._After_successful_completion_of_the_coursework,_students_will_devote_two_semesters_to_writing_a_dissertation,_which_carries_a_further_12_credits._Students_who_earn_the_required_grade_point_average_(CGPA)_in_the_M_Phil_are_automatically_enrolled_in_the_PhD_programme.
