The_current_academic_curriculum_of_the_Centre_focuses_on_the_following_thrust_areas:_regional_organizations,_government_and_politics,_state_and_civil_societies,_ideologies,_governance,_Diasporas,_bilateral_relations,_issues_of_development_and_foreign_policy_of_major_African_countries._Besides_this_the_Centre_has_its_own_research_focus_on_Asian_engagement_with_Africa_and_Global_Indian_Diaspora. Nelson_Mandela_Chair: To facilitate_the_development_of_research,_training_and_interaction_with_scholars_from_abroad,_the_Centre_holds_a_Nelson_Mandela_Chair,_funded_by_ICCR,_through_which_visiting_faculty_from_African_countries_are_invited_every_semester._The_visiting_faculty_participates_in_various_programmes_and_activities_of_the_Centre.
