Atul_Kumar_is_Professor_of_the_Energy_Studies_Programme_at_Jawaharlal_Nehru_University._He_received_his_PhD_in_energy_policy_and_planning_from_the_Indian_Institute_of_Technology,_Delhi._With_over_two_decades_of_professional_experience,_Prof_Kumar_has_led_several_studies_on_energy_sector_assessment,_climate_change_mitigation,_energy-economy-environment_interaction_modelling_using_various_modelling_and_analytical_tools_for_numerous_national_and_international_agencies/organizations_at_various_levels._He_was_instrumental_in_supporting_the_formulation_of_India’s_National_Action_Plan_on_Climate_Change_and_leading_the_development_of_a_national_level_energy-economy-environment_model_to_support_the_formulation_of_India’s_Nationally_Determined_Contribution_submitted_to_UNFCCC_as_a_part_of_the_Paris_Agreement_as_a_part_of_the_project_sponsored_by_Ministry_of_Environment,_Forests_and_Climate_Change,_Government_of_India._Prof._Kumar_previously_held_the_Dean_of_Academics_of_TERI_School_of_Advanced_Studies_and_Fellow_and_Area_Convenor_at_The_Energy_and_Resources_Institute_(TER),_New_Delhi._He_was_appointed_as_the_Prince_Claus_Chair_Professor_on_Development_and_Equity_at_the_Utrecht_University,_the_Netherlands_(2010–12).
