Bhaduri_(Coordinator), R._Singh,_Anamika,_M._Govind The_Centre_for_Studies_in_Science_Policy_(CSSP)_is_unique_to_the_Indian_University_system._Designed_as_a_combined_teaching_and_research_effort,_the_CSSP_explores_various_dimensions_of_the_science-technology-society_interface._Though_oriented_principally_as_an_academic_programme,_the_CSSP_is_nonetheless_also_committed_to_engaging_with_contemporary_policy_challenges._Research_themes_that_currently_comprise_faculty_and_student_concerns_involve:_ science,_technology_and_innovation_policies;_university_–_industry_relations;_intellectual_property_rights;_gender_relations_in_science_and_technology;_globalisation_of_innovation;_ internationalisation_of_R&D;_technology_and_environment;_scientists_in_organisations_and_technology_futures_studies.The_Centre_is_open_to_students_for_admission_from_a_variety_of_social_and_natural_sciences,_technology_studies,_engineering,_medicine,_law_and_management_disciplines._The_current_focus_of_teaching_and_research_at_the_Centre_is_on_science_and_technology_policy_analyses_including_innovation_policies;_sociology_of_science_and_technology;_social_history_of_science_and_technology;_economics_of_technological_change_and_innovation_studies;_technology_futures_studies;_gender_studies_in_science_and_technology;_science_and_technology_for_development;_international_affairs_in_science_and_technology_and_management_of_intellectual_property_rights.The_Centre_offers_direct_PhD programme._This_programme_requires_completion_of_24_credits_in_four_semesters._PhD programme_is_open_to_scholars_who_have_completed_an_post-graduate degree_in_one_of_the_social_or_natural_science_disciplines_or_demonstrated_their_research_capability in_science_policy_studies.
