Centre_for_Informal_Sector_and_Labour_Studies_is_one_of_the_newly_created_Centres_with_the_objective_of_studying_the_informal_sector_which_includes_nonagricultural_workers,_agricultural_labourers,_peasants,_fishermen,_craftsmen,_street_vendors,_domestic_work_etc._Since_the_overwhelming_bulk_of_the_working_people_are_located_in_the_informal_sector_which_is_also_termed_as_the_“Unorganized_Sector”,_the_focus_of_teaching_and_research_in_the_Centre_is_on_labour_processes_and_working_conditions_in_the_unorganised_sector_in_the_contemporary_world,_particularly_the_developing_countries._This_objective,_being_quite_broad,_makes_the_proposed_Centre_necessarily_inter-disciplinary,_since_any_study_of_the_life_of_the_working_people_must_draw_upon_a_whole_range_of_disciplines:_history,_economics,_political_studies,_sociology_and_others..
