Complex_system_studies,_now_an_established_branch_of_the_basic_sciences,_involve_the_studies_of_driven_systems_composed_of_a_large_number_of_interacting_individual_components_(objects/entities/agents/processes/molecules/cells/humans,_etc.)_which_may_have_emergent_behaviour,_hierarchical_organization_of_diverse_integrated_functional_modules_which_obey_their_own_laws,_and_whose_individual_activities_are_generally_nonlinear_in_nature. Natural_and_most_of_the_man-made_complex_systems_are_adaptive_(e.g.,_brain,_cell,_developing_embryo,_ecosystem,_stock_market,_social_systems,_political_parties,_etc.)_because_these_systems_are_capable_of_learning_from_their_individual_experiences_or_of_the_environment,_and_adapting_their_properties_(topology,_dynamics,_organization,_etc.). Complex_system_studies_constitute_highly_interdisciplinary,_fast_growing_branch_of_science_and_integration_of_concepts,_tools_and_techniques_from_different_disciplines_of_science._The_Centre_for_Complex_Systems_Studies_(CCSS)_in_the_School_of_Computational_and_Integrative_Sciences_(SC&IS)_was_approved_by_the_XIth_plan_(UGC_supported)_as_a_program_from_2010.
