Chandrabhaga_Hostel_is_one_of_the_18_hostels_of_the_JNU,_and_is_located_in_the_western_part_of_Paschimabad–II._It_is_a_co-ed_hostel_that_started_functioning_in_2004._Girl’s_wing_has_two_blocs_with_three_floors_each._Boy’s_wing_also_has_two_blocs_with_three_floors_each._The_hostel_has_a_total_of_204_rooms:_102_for_girls_and_102_for_boys._It_also_has_two_dormitories_for_girls_with_a_total_strength_of_40_beds.

The_Hostel_has_only_double_seated_rooms._Each_resident_is_provided_with_study_table,_chair,_bed,_and_a_book_shelf._Each_room_has_two_built-in_cupboards_with_doors._Water_coolers_are_installed_at_appropriate_points_in_the_building_to_provide_cool_and_filtered_safe_drinking_water_to_the_residents._In_bathrooms,_toilets_and_mess_there_is_a_24_hour_water_supply._The_hostel_offers_mess_facility_throughout_the_year._The_residents_are_served_delicious,_healthy_and_nutritious_food_at_a_very_mess_fee._The_mess_is_privately_managed_by_a_contractor_on_no-profit_no-less_basis._The_functioning_of_the_mess_involves_active_participation_of_the_students._Mess_committee_consists_of_six_students_are_elected_by_the_residents._They_collectively_decide_the_Menu_and_other_issues_of_the_Mess,_and_are_in_constant_touch_with_the_residents_to_take_their_feedback_on_the_quality_of_the_food_served._By_turn,_one_out_of_the_six_Mess_Committee_members_acts_as_the_Mess_Secretary_for_a_period_of_one_month_to_be_succeeded_by_another_member._The_Mess_Warden,_as_the_ex-officio-_Chairperson_of_the_Mess_Committee,_oversees_the_functioning_of_the_mess._Anything_pertaining_to_mess_is_discussed_and_decided_in_the_regular_monthly_mess_committee_meetings._The_hostel_has_a_tea_stall,_and_a_laundry_facility_for_the_residents_within_its_premises.

The_hostel_provides_a_gymnasium_and_a_television_room_each_for_girls_and_boys_wing._Reading_room_and_visitor’s_room_are_common_for_the_residents._The_residents_are_also_provided_with_adequate_sporting_facilities._The_hotel_has_table_tennis_table,_badminton_court_and_volley_ball_ground._It_seeks_to_provide_an_excellent_study_and_cordial_social_environment_to_the_residents.

The_hostel_is_built_in_such_a_way_that_the_residents_get_natural_light_and_ventilation._There_is_a_beautiful_green_lawn_surrounded_by_trees_like_amaltash,_neem,_keekar,_etc_in_front_of_the_hostel._The_residents_can_be_seen_sitting_in_groups_in_lawn_in_the_evening,_discussing_and_debating._A_beautiful_garden_with_varieties_of_flowers_decorates_the_main_entrance_of_the_hostel._The_hostel_is_surrounded_by_two_other_hostels_namely_Lohit_and_Shipra_on_the_northern_side_and_Multi-storied_residential_flats_on_the_Southern_side_of_the_Pachimabad_II._Behind_the_hostel_lies_a_lush_green_jungle_with_neelgais,_rabbits,_peacocks,_and_varieties_of_other_flora_and_fauna.
