Guidelines_of_the_Guest_House

The_University_has_three_Guest_Houses_namely Aravali_Guest_House and Aravali_International_Guest_House and Gomti_Guest_House. Aravali_and_Aravali_International_Guest_Houses_are_situated_on_the_campus_adjacent_to_the_academic_complex._The Gomti_Guest_House is_located_behind FICCI_Auditorium,_in_the_heart_of_Delhi,_Tansen_Marg_Mandi_House,_New_Delhi.

These_Guest_Houses_are_primarily_meant_for_official_guests_of_the_Jawaharlal_Nehru_University_/participants_of_Seminars_/_Workshops/_Symposia_/_Conferences_/_Training_Programs,_Organized_by_the_University_/_Centers_/_Departments_as_well_as_those_sponsored_by_the_UGC.

BOOKING_PROCEDURE_: Research_Scholars/Teachers_from_other_educational/academic_institutions_who_come_to_Delhi_for_academic_work_and_are_sponsored_by_their_respective_institutions_may_also_be_accommodated_provided_they_write_for_reservation_of_rooms_to_the Public_Relations_Officer_or_Manager_Guest_House, _Jawaharlal_Nehru_University,_New_Delhi-110067,_India._Such_provisional_bookings_are_liable_to_be_cancelled_without_assigning_any_reason_in_case_the_University_needs_the_rooms_for_its_own_use.

The_Guest_Houses_provide_beddings_(bed_sheet,_pillow,_sheet,_pillow-cover,_blanket,_mattress_etc.)._An_inventory_of_articles_for_use_in_the_rooms_is_available_in_each_room._The_guests_are_requested_to_check_these_items_at_the_time_of_occupying_the_room._The_responsibility_for_any_missing_item_will,_thereafter,_rest_with_the_guests._The_guests_are_responsible_for_proper_use_and_upkeep_of_the_materials/fixtures_provided_in_the_rooms_as_also_in_the_guest_house._They_shall_be_liable_to_pay_charges_for_any_loss_or_damage_caused_during_their_stay.

The_maximum_stay_permissible_is_ten_days._Guests_are_required_to_make_entries_in_the_Register_with_the_Guest-House-Keeper_before_occupying_the_room._Foreigners_may_kindly_give_details_of_their_passports_and_Visas._Request_for_the_reservation_of_the_room_has_to_be_given_in_writing_by_filling_.

1._No_rent_would_be_charged_from_the_invited_official_guests_of_the_University_in_JNU_guest_house_for_attending_meeting_of_Statuary_committee_like_Academic_council,_Finance_committee,_Executive_council,_Court_meeting,_Examination,_Selection_committee,_Viva-voice_etc.

2._A_Priority_list_has_been_approved_for_allotment_of_rooms_in_the_University_Guest_houses_which_is_as_follows:-

First_Priority_:- Guests_who_are_coming_to_attend_Selection_Committee/Viva-voce/EC/AC/Court/FC/Board_of_studies_Meeting_etc_(Rent_status-_Rent_free).

Second_Priority:- Visiting_team_from_UGC-HRD_Ministry_in_relation_to_University_academic_programs_and_NDA_officers,_Visiting_JNU_for_signing_degrees_(Rent_status-_Rent_free).

Third_Priority- Visiting_Faculty/Visiting_Scholars/Student_&_Faculty_members_under_MOU_/_Newly_appointment_faculty_members.

Fourth_Priority- Seminar_(Conference/Workshop/Symposia_organized_by_JNU).

Last_Priority- Personal_guest_of_JNU_Community.

Check-In/Check_Out

24_hrs_from_the_time_of_Arrival._The_Guest_may_check_in_at_any_time._However,_for_the_purpose_of_accounting,_a_day_means_24_hours_from_the_time_of_occupation/arrival._Fraction_of_day_will_be_counted_as_full_day.

Duration_of_stay

Ordinarily_a_person_will_be_allowed_to_stay_for_maximum_10_days_only._In_exceptional_cases_the_extension_may_be_granted_subject_to_the_prior_approval_of_the_Incharge_Guest_House_/Manager_depending_upon_the_availability_of_rooms.

Extension: _The_extension_is_granted_by_the Public_Relations_Officer_or_Manager_Guest_House only._Therefore,_all_such_requests_should_be_sent_to_them_through_the_Asst._Manager_at_least_24_hours_in_advance._Where_the_extension_of_stay_has_not_been_allowed,_the_stay_of_the_person_beyond_the_approved_period_will_be_treated_as_unauthorized._For_such_unauthorized_period,_he/she_will_be_charged_double_the_rent_he/she_was_paying_immediately_before_the_expiry_of_the_authorized_period._The_Guest_Housekeeper_has_the_authority_to_over_lock_such_rooms_in_case_the_guest_refuses_to_make_payment_at_penal_rent_or_any_other_action_as_deemed_as_per_the_university_rules.

Cancellation: Cancellation,_if_any,_should_be_made_at_least_7_days_in_advance._If_no_cancellation_is_made_in_time,_the_guests_will_have_to_pay_till_the_date_of_departure_even_if_the_room_remained_vacant_because_of_the_late_arrival_of_the_guest._The_University_reserves_the_right_to_cancel_or_refuse_accommodation_if_it_is_satisfied_that_the_stay_of_such_person(s)_is_not_in_the_interest_of_the_University.

The_complimentary/official_guests_of_the_University_would_continue_to_be_treated_as_the_University_guests_and_no_room_rent_would_be_charged_from_them._The_complimentary/official_guests_of_the_University_are_a_follows:

Visiting_team_from_UGC/NAAC/Ministry_of_Education_coming_in_relation_to_University's_academic_programmes.

NDA/IMA_officers_visiting_JNU_for_signing_degrees

University_guests_who_come_to_attend/conduct_Viva-Voce/EC/AC/FC/Court/meeting_of_the_Board_of_Studies_of_Schools/Selection_Committee_or_any_other_official_meeting_of_the_university.

All_dues_should_be_cleared_before_departure_during_office_hours_(10_AM_–_5_PM)_on_working_days.

At_least_50%_rental_charges_should_be_paid_in_advance_at_the_time_of_occupying_the_room.

Please_demand_official_receipts_for_all_payments_made.

Some_Do's_and_Dont's

Persons_staying_in_the_Guest_House_are_not_entitled_to_bring_in_unauthorized_guest(s)_to_stay_with_them_in_the_Guest_House.

The_Guest_House_closes_at_10_PM_in_winter_and_11_PM_in_summer._Those_staying_out_for_the_night_or_coming_late_should_inform_the_Guest-House-Keeper/Security_Guard_in_advance_to_avoid_any_inconvenience.

The_University_authorities_are_not_responsible_for_valuable_items_kept_in_the_rooms.

Male_visitors/guests_are_not_allowed_in_the_rooms_occupied_by_female_guests_and_vice-versa.

Alcoholic_drinks_in_the_Guest_House_are_strictly_prohibited.

Any_damage_or_loss_to_the_Guest_Houses_will_be_subject_to_a_fine_which_would_be_paid_by_the_Requisitioner.

The_tariff_is_subject_to_change_at_any_time_without_notice.

Visitor_for_guests_residing_in_Guest_House_is_allowed_from_10.00_a.m._to_10.00_p.m._only.

Pets_are_not_allowed

Damaging_of_property_or_defacing_any_notice/poster/walls_etc._of_the_Guest_Houses_is_illegal.

We_do_not_accept_credit/debit_cards._Payment_is_accepted_only_in_cash.

All_visitors_coming_to_see_a_guest_staying_in_the_guest_house_shall_have_to_make_entries_in_the_register_available_with_the_security_guard.

Cooking/Washing_is_not_allowed_in_the_rooms.

Food/meals,_except_tea/coffee/cold_drinks,_are_served_only_in_the_dinning_hall.

The_guests_are_requested_to_switch_off_the_lights_and_fans,_close_windows_and_lock_their_rooms_when_they_go_out.

Please_do_not_pay_tips_to_the_staff.

The_Guest_House_is_meant_for_you._Please_help_us_keep_it_clean.

There_is_always_room_for_improvement._Suggestions/complaints,_if_any,_may_be_put_in_the_suggestion_box_outside_the_office.

The_responsibity_for_the_formalities_regarding_the_foreign_guests_lies_with_the_requisitioner.
