The_International_Students_Association_(ISA)_is_an_official_component_body_of_Jawaharlal_Nehru_University_(JNU)._Instituted_in_1985_under_the_name_of_Foreign_Students_Association_(FSA)_[the_name_was_changed_to_ISA_by_JNU_administration_in_March_2011]_with_a_view_to_promote_friendly_relations_and_cultural_exchange_among_international_and_host_students_of_the_varsity;_ISA_has_so_far_been_a_platform_to_around_600_international_students_from_around_50_countries,_a_fair_size_of_them_coming_from_South_Asia,_South-East_Asia,_Central_Asia,_Africa_and_Europe._ISA_looks_after_the_interest_of_the_overseas_students_studying_in_JNU._It_assists_new_international_entrants,_solves_their_problems_and_ensures_better_facilities_for_the_diverse_overseas_student_community._ISA_has_a_constitution_and_elected_Executive,_Cultural,_Advisory_and_Financial_Committees_and_functions_democratically_and_regular_General_Body_Meetings_are_held_keeping_the_ethos_of_JNU_in_mind._All_international_students_of_JNU_are_also_members_of_the_ISA._It_gives_them_their_own_space_where_they_can_communicate_their_ideas,_discuss_their_problems_and_organize_various_inter-cultural_activities_and_thus_create_a_home_away_from_home.
