Mr._Anant_Kumar,_a_student_volunteer_who_is_also_a_Rehabilitation_Psychologist_by_training,_looking_the_functioning_of_counselling_service._The_university_is_providing_this_service_through_the_Counselling_Unit_of_Health_Centre,_JNU. JNU_is_also_maintaining_proper_register_of_disabled_students_coming_for_counselling,_mentioning_the_type_of_disability_and_problems_(Psychological/_Physical_or_any_other_problems_related_to_adjustment/_studies/_relationships,_etc)._Notices_regarding_the_Counselling_Service_are_pasted_at_the_different_places_within_the_campus_to_inform_the_JNU_community_and_Students_with_special_needs_about_it._The_services_are_made_available_six_days_a_week_(Monday_to_Saturday)_at_specified_time. Awareness In_this_regard,_through_our_volunteers_we_are_contacting_students_with_special_need_and_as_possible_we_are_helping_them._We_are_also_putting_up_notices_related_to_our_scheme_to_make_them_aware_of_services_and_facilities_available. Employment University_Disability_Unit_is_also_assisting_disabled_graduates_in_getting_successful_employment_in_public_as_well_as_private_sector_and_in_this_regard_unit_is_in_touch_with_various_Non_Governmental_Organizations_active_in_this_field_as_well_as_some_Government_Institutions._As_part_of_awareness_programme,_through_volunteers,_the_unit_is_also_in_touch_with_the_students_with_special_needs_to_understand_their_problems_and_help_them._Notices_and_pamphlets_related_to_the_Scheme_to_make_the_student_community_aware_of_these_programmes_are_also_put_up_and_it_is_proposed_that_in_future_workshops_and_seminars_shall_be_organized_as_part_of_awareness_programme. Future_Programmes 1._To_make_University_disable_friendly_i.e.,_all_school_buildings,_library_and_administrative_blocks_will_be_connected_through_ramps. 2._Employment_opportunities_for_students_with_special_needs_will_be_explored. 3._Agencies_providing_financial_benefits_to_physically_challenged_students_will_be_short_listed_and_contacted_for_creating_endowments_in_JNU. 4._Facility_of_computer_aided_reading_for_blind_students_will_be_expanded_in_the_Central_library_by_the_University. 5._A_special_wing_of_a_hostel_will_be_equipped_with_facilities_like_special_gymnasium,_recreational_equipment,_and_special_toilets. 6._Construction_of_special_toilets_in_the_existing_buildings_and_library_will_be_explored.
