SC/ST/OBC CELL

The_Jawaharlal_Nehru_University_has_been_set_up_by_an_Act_of_Parliament_(Act_53_of_1969)._In_line_with_the_affirmative_policy_of_Government_of_India,_the_University_has_resolved_that_the_affirmative_policies,_programmes,_schemes,_facilities_would_be_provided_to_the_persons_belonging_to_socially_and_economically_weaker_sections_of_the_Society_including_persons_with_disabilities._With_a_view_to_ensuring_implementation_of_the_affirmative_policy_of_the_Government_of_India/UGC_and_the_orders_issued_by_such_authorities_from_time_to_time_for_the_benefit_of_SC/STs_the_University_set_up_SC/ST_Cell_in_terms_of_UGC_letter_no._F.1-26/76(CP/SCT)_dated_27.06.1979._The_Cell_was_set_up_by_the_University_vide_its_Office_Order_No._16_dated_July_22,_1983.

Since_the_reservation_for_OBCs_were_also_provided_by_Government_of_India,_the_name_of_SC/ST_Cell_was_changed_to_SC/ST/OBC_Cell,_so_as_to_include_work_relating_to_implementation_of_reservation_policies_for_OBCs._The_Cell_is_headed_by_the_Joint_Registrar/_Deputy_Registrar._The_details_about_sanctioned_strength_for_the_SC/ST/OBC_Cell_are_given_below:
