Course_list_for_Winter_Semester_2025 Centre_for_Philosophy_was_set_up_in_1999_in_the_School_of_Social_Sciences._The_Centre_aims_at_studying_problems_and_concerns_of_philosophy_cutting_across_traditions_and_narrow_disciplinary_boundaries._Issue-oriented_interdisciplinary_approach_in_teaching_and_research_is_the_core_focus_of_the_Centre. The_academic_programmes_are_intended_to_provide_students_a_strong_foundation_in_the_discipline_of_philosophy_by_encouraging_engagements_with_substantive_questions_and_contemporary_concerns._Along_with_the_study_of_foremost_themes_in_ontology,_epistemology,_ethics,_and_Indian_Philosophy,_the_curricula_of_the_Centre_have_been_designed_to_explore_newer_enterprises_in_philosophy._The_courses_of_study_also_focus_on_training_students_to_read_original_texts,_both_classical_and_contemporary,_and_to_write_philosophical_essays. Seminars,_conferences,_workshops,_lectures,_and_discussions_on_issues_of_general_and_interdisciplinary_nature_are_an_integral_part_of_the_activities_of_the_Centre._Students_are_provided_with_ample_opportunities_to_meet_distinguished_philosophers_and_scholars_from_India_and_abroad_for_discussions_and_debates_on_a_regular_basis. The_Centre_for_Philosophy_constantly_strives_to_create_a_body_of_scholarly_work_that_can_yield_newer_and_richer_reflections_on_philosophical_issues_and_problems.
