Yamuna Hostel (Uttarakhand)

p{ text-align:justify; line-height:_19px; } Built_in_the_year_2001,_Yamuna_Hostel_has_the_unique_identity_of_being_a_Working_Womens’_Hostel,_supported_by_the_Ministry_of_Women_and_Child_Development,_Govt._of_NCT,_Delhi_and_its_rules_are_applicable_in_Yamuna_Hostel._Located_in_a_relatively_peaceful_quiet_location_of_the_campus,_this_Hostel_offers_quiet_walks_to_the_woods_and_the_lush_green_surrounding_vegetation_inhabited_by_Peacocks_and_Neelgai’s._Like_most_other_Hostel_of_the_campus,_Yamuna_also_boasts_of_the_typical_red-brick_JNU_architecture_and_a_premise_covered_with_green_trees_and_bushes.

 

The_Hostel_currently_has_195_single-seater_rooms_for_Women._The_Hostel_Complex_is_divided_into_three_residential_Blocks_-_A,_B_&_C._Yamuna_residents_virtually_represent_every_part_of_diverse_Indian_social_and_cultural_life_and_hence_the_Hostel_presents_an_exceedingly_cosmopolitan_living_environment.

 

The_Hostel_Complex_is_located_very_close_to_the_JNU_sports_complex,_thus_providing_quick_and_easy_access_to_the_residents_to_all_sporting_facilities_that_the_Sports_Complex_offers._Very_close_to_the_Hostel_Complex_is_the_India_Coffee_House,_that_provides_refreshments_at_subsidized_rates_throughout_the_day.

 

The_Office_of_the_Hostel_is_located_at_the_ground_floor_of_Block_B_and_remains_open_from_9_A.M._to_5_P.M,_Monday_to_Saturday._The_Hostel_Mess_offers_breakfast,_lunch,_and_dinner_to_all_the_residents_(including_guests_of_residents)._There_is_a_Common_Room,_Reading_Room_and_a_small_Gym_for_residents.

 

The_Hostel_elections_are_held_annually_to_elect_the_Hostel_President,_the_Hostel_Committee_with_six_members,_and_the_Mess_Committee_with_six_members_every_year. _The_democratic_system_of_hostel_administration_is_rigorously_followed_as_part_of_distinctive_JNU_culture.

 

The_Hostel_has_two_Wardens_-_Warden_(Administration_and_Maintenance)_and_Warden_(Mess,_Health_and_Recreation)_who_reside_within_the_Hostel_Complex.

 

The_Hostel_Premises_is_guarded_by_three_Security_Guards_round_the_clock.

 

Yamuna_Hostel_is_administered_by_the_Yamuna_Hostel_Management_Committee_headed_by_the_Vice-_Chancellor_of_JNU._The_Management_Committee_meets_at_least_once_a_year._The_Yamuna_Hostel_Management_Sub-Committee_comprising_of_the_ADOS_(IHA),_the_Provost_(Uttarakhand),_Deputy_Registrar_(IHA)_and_the_two_Wardens_looks_into_the_day_to_day_functioning_of_the_Hostel_and_meets_at_regular_intervals.

 

Room_rent_would_be_the_HRA_claim_by_the_applicant._Other_charges_at_the_hostel_would_include_Mess_bill,_establishment_charges,_allotment_fees,_electricity_charges_(based_on_consumption)_and_monthly_maintenance_charges_(MMC).
